The job
TG Simulation designs and builds flight simulators, and uses them to train pilots. A simulator technician makes sure the simulator is serviceable and ready every time a crew sits down to train.
Every day
Check the simulator before the day's sessions, record its state in the technical log, and make sure it is clear for training.
When something goes wrong: find the fault, record the defect, fix it and clear the device for use again, keeping a proper maintenance record so we can always show what was done.
Keeping it approved for training: support the regular qualification testing (QTG runs) and the records that go with it, so the simulator stays fit for pilot training.
Working with the team
Instructors and technicians work side by side: sessions run on time, and problems are reported and cleared quickly.
You will also help with upgrades, software and new builds as our simulators develop.
Who we are looking for
You enjoy solving problems, you are careful and tidy with records, and you are comfortable with electronics and computers.
Experience with flight simulators is welcome but you do not need it: tell us what you have done and what you would like to learn.
Competitive salary, based at our headquarters in Lincoln. This description is a summary; the full role is agreed at interview.
