MCCI — Multi-Crew Cooperation Instructor

For an experienced pilot moving into training.

Duration: 5 working daysTheory: 25 hoursFI or SFI held: Theory creditedPlaces: 4

For pilots who want to teach it

The MCCI qualifies you to instruct on an MCC course. It is aimed at experienced pilots moving into training, and the shift it asks for is real: you are no longer responsible for flying the aeroplane well, you are responsible for two people learning to.

What it covers

Instructional technique on the flight deck, where you cannot stop the exercise to explain. Briefing, so a crew knows what good looks like before it starts. Debriefing, so they leave knowing what to change.

Assessing a crew rather than an individual, including the harder judgement of what to do when one pilot is carrying the other.

The 25 hours of teaching and learning

They are credited if you already hold an FI or SFI rating, because it is the same module you have already completed, and taught in full if you do not.

Your certificate records which applied, so the credit is visible rather than assumed.

Entry requirements

If you're unsure, talk to us before you book and we will confirm you meet them for your licence and your instructing experience.
